I have been involved in creating gardens for over 20 years; it’s an ever-changing world that I never tire of as there’s always so much to learn, new clients to meet and I enjoy the mix of designing and outdoor life.
I work with my husband Simon whose background is as a plant nurseryman. He has an affinity for all things to do with plants, nature and animals and his knowledge and experience complements mine. We work together on surveys, planting projects and a small amount of garden maintenance.
Being involved in the running of the SGDG has proved a rewarding voluntary role and it’s great to support such an active and thriving group. Perhaps the most valuable part of being a member is being able to meet and exchange notes with fellow designers. I organise the meetings of the SGDG Professional Development Group where members meet (either in person or online) for in depth discussions.
